The Puppy Diaries – The Third Month
This is the third instalment of our puppy diary, featuring Murdock the lurcher puppy, with candid insights and practical tips on welcoming a dog into your home. How big will he get? Murdock has changed so much since we brought him home at the end of June. He seems to be growing bigger every time we look at him at the moment and we still aren’t completely sure how big he will get. His mum, Pie is a large greyhound-sized lurcher and his dad is a pedigree whippet, so we think he will be somewhere between the two. Some of...
Food, drink and household items that are harmful to cats
We’ve noticed that we’ve been talking a lot about dogs on the blog lately (since our chief blog writer got a new puppy ) and whilst most of our pet grooming products are popular with dog owners, we also sell lots of items to people that own cats and other small furry animals too – in fact any pets that need a good wash, a brush or a blow dry. So this week we’re going to have a closer look at taking care of your cat... A while ago we wrote about the types of food that dogs need to avoid...
Taking care of your dog’s teeth
As you know, we are very hot on grooming here at Gravitis Pet Supplies – the majority of our business comes from selling dog grooming baths and grooming tables - and our pet hairdryer is the number one bestselling dog hairdryer on Amazon. Which is why we know grooming your pets isn’t just about making them look good – it makes them feel good too, by keeping them healthy and happy with shiny, glossy coats that are free from matts or tangles. As humans, part of our regular grooming routine includes brushing our teeth – and again this isn’t just about looking good, it’s important for our overall...
Teaching your dog how to be left alone
Right now, many of our children are returning to school and many of us are preparing for the most significant ‘return to normal’ since the Coronavirus pandemic began. Sadly, this also means a significant change for our pets too. After close to six months watching us work from home or having family and children around all the time, they are going to have to adjust to being left alone once more. And for pets like Murdock – the star of our puppy diaries blog series – they could be left alone for the first time ever. So it is important...
The Puppy Diaries – The Second Month
This is the second instalment of our puppy diary, featuring Murdock the lurcher puppy, with candid insights and practical tips on welcoming a dog into your home. Teething Puppies develop their first set of 28 tiny, razor-sharp teeth when they are about 2 weeks old. At around 3 to 4 months of age these tiny teeth begin to fall out and are replaced with 42 adult teeth. I can see that Murdock has already lost a few baby teeth at the front and for the next couple of months he will be keener than usual to bite down on things...
